Even today, with animal justice reform in full swing and advocacy increasing across the U.S., billions of captive, farmed, companion, wildlife & endangered animals are still being slaughtered, killed, harmed, mistreated, neglected, and abused.
In fact, every year in the U.S., 26M animals are used in scientific testing. More than 58B chickens, 1.5B pigs, 517M sheep and 300M cows are slaughtered for meat and dairy consumption. Approximately 85B fish and other marine life are killed. More than 1M companion animals are abused or killed. About 6 to 8M companion animals are abandoned. It’s alarming, yet a harsh reality.
